The Anatomy of Leadership Development That Gets Awards

Effective leadership is crucial for any organisation.

Recent research from the Centre for Workplace Leadership found that good leadership positively affects motivation, financial performance, engagement, job satisfaction, effort level, and employee turnover.

Yet we see again and again studies and articles describing failed leadership development initiatives. Just 2 months ago Harvard Business Review released a new article titled: Why Leadership Training Fails – and What To Do About It. With $356 billion spent on employee training and learning globally in 2015 alone – it’s an issue we can’t ignore.

They propose a step by step approach to improve leadership development in their article. They talk a lot about context and supporting leaders to implement change and improve performance with consultation and coaching.

At Lever we are incredibly fortunate to partner with LIW, a leadership consultancy who are successfully turning failed leadership stats on their head. With unparalleled strategy and design, and a commitment to learning transfer by incorporating Turning Learning into Action(TM) into many of their global, award winning initiatives, LIW are supporting leaders to build remarkable change in their organisations.

Their motto is “leadership, not just leaders”.

A powerful message amongst the latest findings from HBR.

Together with LIW and Telstra we are very excited to officially announce our role in the winning of the Australian Institute of Training and Development’s Excellence Awards in the category of Best Talent Development Program 2016.

It was a really fun night a few weeks back at the Awards dinner – the category of Best Talent Development Program had 10 finalists, so we were thrilled to be recognised in this award. Congratulations to everyone involved – it is a truly great collaboration between LIW, Lever and Telstra!

We would be very happy to introduce you to LIW to see what their world class, award winning leadership development approach could do for your organisation. Do let us know if you would like an introduction. Alternatively you can contact them directly here.
