My Top Highlights from Learning Technologies 2017

What an epic two days at the Learning Technologies conference in London. With more than 7,500 visitors, 150 free L&D seminars, and 250 exhibitors, LTUK is one of Europe’s leading learning & development conferences. Congratulations and thanks go to the team at LTUK for putting together such a fantastic event.

As it all wraps up at the end of day 2 I’ve recorded a short video about my highlights from the Expo and the Conference –

As a summary – I’ve had some great conversations downstairs in the rich learning environment that is the Learning Technologies Expo. It was a delight to collaborate with Towards Maturity on their Exchange sessions, a series of informal, face to face, group discussions held throughout the event. Check out the Twitter backchannel through #lt17ex to get a glimpse of the key learnings from all of the Exchange sessions, including mine on “How to create effective learning transfer”.

My highlights from the conference include the fantastic opening keynote from Thimon de Jong who talked about technology, trends and personalisation in a digital age. I also enjoyed Tony O’Driscoll and Steve Wheeler‘s session looking at the opportunities for learning with technology. I loved their emphasis on the difference between knowing and doing – right up my street obviously!

Day 2 saw an entertaining opening keynote from Deborah Frances-White about the power of stories in learning. To name just a few, other fantastic presentations came from Will Thalheimer on Spaced Learning, and Stella Collins on learning and the mind. A conference rife with rich learning and so many amazing people from all over the world.

For more details on these conference highlights do have a watch of my video above.
