Augmenting Myself with AI: A 10-Minute Approach to Blog Creation

How I augmented myself with ChatGPT for efficiency!
In my previous blog, “Augmenting Humans with AI: A Learning Professional’s Perspective,” I explored the importance of transparency in AI-augmented learning. Now, I want to take you on a journey through my personal experience of using ChatGPT to generate blog content in record time—less than 10 minutes, to be exact! Many people are using AI, my top tip is utilising voice commands for quick captures.
Behind the scenes
Let me take you back to that moment. It’s 5 a.m., and I should be asleep, but instead, I’m wide awake, thinking about my blog. I even turned on YouTube in an attempt to drift back off when the idea for this post began to take shape.
I recorded an audio note directly into ChatGPT – let me walk you through what unfolded, step by step
Step 1: Capture the Moment with Voice
Without even gathering my thoughts I grab my device and record a simple audio note. Here’s the audio transcript of my initial recording – as you speak into voice ChatGPT on your phone it captures the transcript and you can see how rough and ready it was…. And remember too it was 5am and I was half asleep!:
“Chatgpt can we make this into a blog post please Augmenting, humans with AI will become the way of the world.I’m gonna be focusing over the next 2 or 3 blogs. And an upcoming weather about augmenting AI with humans within your learning. And of course , no surprises are be talking specifically about learning transfer. A few things have inspired this topicIt’s relevant, it’s timely, and good friends of mine across in Europe told me I must do it. Plus, I had the strangest experience the other day. I’m quite unique in that I don’t have any paid TV subscriptions, but I do have a YouTube subscription. And boy, I spend a lot of time learning and enjoying YouTube. Now, does anyone remember a few weeks ago when everyone was talking about the Google Notetaker AI, which had the ability to create podcasts by seemingly humans, which weren’t humans, they were AI generated, but you could put in your content and the tool creates a podcast. And it was fantastic and a real breakthrough app for me. But imagine my surprise when I clicked on a link, which sounded fascinating, and I started listening to my YouTube video from a channel that I don’t usually subscribe or listen to. And I know the voices are the voices from the AI generated, yet the YouTube video is pretending it’s two actual humans. I had a whole host of emotions. Am I imagining it? Could these people be human when I know their AI voices? Then you have the issue of feeling duped. But the content was really really good. So then I was torn into listening to it because I was enjoying it even though it was bringing up all these emotions of fear and distrust, an anger that these people weren’t being transparent and open about it being AI and then how would I possibly prove it? So isn’t it fascinating? The learning was excellent. The tool was excellent. The content was excellent. But as learner I wasn’t enjoying it chiefly. Because of all the emotions it was creating underneath it. It’s a fascinating experience as a learning professional. So where does this leave us with augmenting humans and AI? Well, it leads us to needing to be transparent for one thing. On Coach M, our tool, we have a phrase, rescue, that people can use to get to a human. We want to be really avert when you are not with a human and when you are. And anytime a human puts a message into Coach M, it always starts with, Hi, it’s Emma, brackets, human, here. For absolute clarity, without fail, if you’re speaking with a human, rather than speaking with M. So I’m going to be sharing some tips around augmenting with AI, plus how we do it and how we’re enjoying that process with clients. I’m really hoping this is useful to the learning community. I’d love to have you along in the journey. Please keep an eye out for the blogs upcoming. And of course, do book yourself into the webinar, Augmenting AI for Learning Transfer. I’d love to share more. Looking forward to it.”
Step 2: ChatGPT does its thing!
Within moments of sending my audio note to ChatGPT, real power of the LLM becomes evident. The tool processes my request and generates a pretty polished blog post. In order to tweak it, I made a follow through instruction by sending another recording to add a PS at the end of the blog.
Here’s the follow-up recording
“Can we add a PS P.S. This blog post was created with the help of ChatGPT. Why wouldn’t you, when it can save so much time, help with accuracy, engage your audience, etc., etc.? And if you’re not using ChatGPT for your writing, I’m not here to try and persuade you whether it’s the A or an A, but have a look at this story behind this blog post to see if it is helpful to you. So for the story behind the story, it’s 5 a.m. right now. I should be asleep, but I’m awake. I’m thinking about my blog post I put on YouTube to try and get back to sleep when this instance occurred, as in the blog. But this blog post has been generated in less than 10 minutes. I recorded an audio on ChatGPT straight into my phone. This is the exact audio that I sent to ChatGPT with the one-liner, Can we make this into a blog, please? And within two minutes, if that, this was the blog post that you’ve just clicked through that was generated. And now this is taking me, I’m watching the timer, to record this PS is another 1 minute 30 seconds, which I will absolutely send through and it will regenerate it. It’s amazing. It’s such a time saver. It is going to change the way we live and work and how we augment it in our lives is going to be key. Thanks, everyone. Join me on the journey.”
Why It Matters
Adopting voice commands with AI tools like ChatGPT is so efficient. It’s my ideas, my thoughts and I could spend time crafting the article but if I had the blog would have taken at least an hour more. The voice command allowed me to articulate ideas naturally and eliminated the barriers that often come with writing. This method not only saves time but also fuels my creativity because I don’t have to worry immediately about getting it spot on, I just have to start!
Conclusion: Join Me on This Journey
As we navigate the intersection of AI and learning, it’s vital to explore the most efficient ways to execute. My experience with voice commands and ChatGPT exemplifies how we can augment our abilities and realise our ideas swiftly.
