Book Launch and Behavioural Change in Action!

Book Launch and Behavioural Change in Action!

I’m delighted to share that the Foundations of People Metrics and Analytics book launched a month ago!

The book is the amazing work of many, edited by the wonderful Renjini Joseph. It is a rich publication designed as an accessible starting point to the analytics journey, helping people develop a critical and systemic approach – and it will be used in universities to help those entering the profession. What a great privilege to contribute and co-author a case study.

Our behaviours are governed by our thoughts, feelings, values, beliefs, fears and needs. What was it that was getting in the way? When I sat with it (and worked with my coach!)… it unfolded that I was afraid. After all that hard work to write and a chance to support and inspire people in their analytics journeys, I was afraid to put it out there, for no real valid reason! Yikes!

Why do I share this? I am hoping that pushing past my fear will help someone else do the same. Do you sometimes ever look at authors and think they don’t feel fear as you do? It’s time to bust that myth – everyone has fears. They’re just very different and very personal.

Here’s a challenge for you. Look at your ‘to-do list’ or however you manage your priorities. Is there anything on there that is stuck or just hasn’t made it to the top yet? Could it be there’s a fear lurking underneath? Afraid of what others will think? Afraid of getting it wrong? Afraid of being seen? Afraid of being a troublemaker? Afraid of saying the wrong thing? Push past the fear to get traction on the behaviours – I did, and you can do it too!

And if you want to up the ante on behavioural change, reflect on what the action is for you and then do it. Just use it to hold yourself accountable to you.

I hope you enjoy the book and discover more about People Analytics.

And importantly… let’s all keep learning every day 🙂
